Argument for the Sake of Heaven with North Shore Congregation Israel Synagogue, Chicago

This autumn we were grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with one of our alumni from the Auburn Emerging Leaders programme. Rabbi Jacob Leizman hosted us for an evening at North Shore synagogue to engage with his congregation, following on from a reconciliation series he had been leading.

The programme has been integrating Rose pedagogy with the teachings of ‘makhloket l'shem shamayim’ (argument for the sake of heaven), ‘eilu v'eilu’ (these and those are words of the living God), and ‘teiku’ (let it stand). During our time we explored a polarities mapping tool and built new relationships. We are excited to see how this partnership will grow in 2025.
